Vista May Corrupt your iPod

iPodHave you got an iPod? Upgrading to the new Windows Vista? I think not.

Apple are advising everyone who owns an iPod to postpone upgrading to Windows Vista. This is because Vista could potentially corrupt the iPod’s internal software.

Apple had this to say in their statement on their support forums: “Upgrading from Windows 2000 or Windows XP to Vista may result in the inability to play songs purchased and downloaded to the desktop iTunes player from its online iTunes store.”

An even worse problem is that the “Safely Remove Hardware” in Vista could also corrupt the music device. Apple say that the best thing to do is to use the “Eject iPod” feature within iTunes.

Until an update is released, it’s best not to upgrade just yet.

It seems even the upgrade still conflicts with Vista Business.

  1. Hey if anyone cares anymore here is a fix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933824/

  2. I’ve been using Vista for a few months now, simply because my laptop shipped with it pre-installed. I’ve hated Vista from day one. Sometimes, merely disliked it. I can’t say i ever had a moment of loving it.

So far, my Vista laptop, through no true fault of my own, has corrupted 2 Sansa mp3 players beyond repair. I’ve tried everything to reset/format them, with no success.

All you need to do, is do something “incredibly daring” , like create a new folder on the Sansa, and move some files.

BEWARE, this WILL kill your Sansa when using Vista. The Sansa might not complain immediately, but within minutes, your Sansa will be unresponsive.

  3. I FUCKEN HATE VISTA WORST TECHNOLOGY EVER MADE!!!!!!!

  4. “p.s if u think im lying then your retared” hahaha retared? whos the retard there ;)

i FOOKING HATE VISTA!!!!!! it wont sync my BRAND NEW NANO and i really need it! i just bought it!! the microsoft guy says they are working with apple to fix vista/ipod problems, and that users should wait until an update is availiable…. what do i do till then?!?

i want XP back SO BADLY!

  5. Vista: Screwup of the century
